We crafted our 2016 Réserve Spéciale from the finest vineyard sources in Sonoma County. The vintage marks the 30th Arrowood harvest, and comes in a special anniversary bottle. This wine continues the tradition of complexity and ageability in Arrowood Réserve Cabernets. It opens with aromas of lavender, black currant, anise, dark cherry, and a hint of cinnamon. It is a big wine with intense and muscular structure. Over time and as it continues aging in the bottle, the tannins will soften and reward the patient consumer.
Originally planted in 1880, Monte Rosso Vineyard sits at an elevation of nearly 1,000 feet on the southwest hills of the Mayacamas Mountains in Sonoma Valley. Known for its bright red, iron-rich soils, we source from two blocks within this vineyard that makes up our dark, complex and intense Cabernet Sauvignon. On the nose, this wine opens with complex aromas of fruit and earth. The wine truly reflects its sense of place with notes of resin, crushed volcanic rock, leathery black fruit, tar, and cherry. This leads into an intense and expressive entry on the palate that concludes with a long and flavorful finish.

Our 2016 Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is bold with black forest fruit and anise, offering undertones of violet and clove. Cocoa powder comes through on the palate accompanied by broad tannins and a rich and persistent finish.
The iron-like minerality on both the nose and palate is a reflection of the rocky red volcanic soils of the Monte Rosso vineyard, originally planted in 1880. Intense aromatics of cassis and dried blueberries pour out of the glass, along with a hint of juniper and cola. The wine has a powerful structure that presents itself on the front palate, followed by an opulent mid-palate and savory sweet finish of cherry compote.
