Winemaker's Notes
A wines' greatness can be remarkable, but how do you describe perfection? We can't really give you a definitive in words, but we are relatively sure that you will come pretty close to experiencing perfection when you dazzle your senses with our 2004 Special Select Late Harvest White Riesling from Alexander Valley Hoot Owl Creek Vineyards in Sonoma County. With berries concentrated by the Noble Rot, Botrytis cinerea, this fruit was harvested at an incredible 36â Brix and bottled with a natural residual sugar level of 19.2%.

Arrowood Special Select Late Harvest White Riesling is deep amber and yellow gold in color-very rich looking. The aromatics are pure, concentrated apricot and peach with a touch of honey in the background. These characteristics follow through to the palate with tremendous fruit and richness; its sweetness balanced with great acidity on an extremely long, gorgeous finish.

We think of this wine as a desserts dessert. It is such a treat on its own, but will really enhance and be the perfect addition to pound cake with crème anglaise or apricots with bits and pieces of pineapple and fresh peaches. With plenty of fruit and a lovely, balanced structure, we feel our 2004 Special Select Late Harvest White Riesling will develop and age beautifully in the bottle well into the next decade or two.
