Tasting Notes
This is a broad, generous Cabernet with incredible depth and complexity. The color is dark from center to rim. The bouquet is highly aromatic with notes of cassis, currants, vanilla and toast. The extended oak aging tamed the tannins and added rich, textural notes to the wine. Thick, round and mouth filling, it is a wine that combines power and grace.

About The Wine
Every few years, when nature cooperates, we are able to produce a Réserve Spéciale Cabernet Sauvignon. It is our signature wine composed of the best barrels from the best sites in Sonoma County. Lush, layered and complex it captures the fingerprint of the variety, the attributes of the vintage and the character of the terroir.

The 2004 vintage gave Richard Arrowood a wide spectrum of wines to use in his final blend. The growing season opened with a heat wave in the first half of March triggering an early bloom. The remainder of the year was noteworthy for its warm days, cool nights and morning fog. All in all, we feel it was one of the finest Cabernet vintages of the last decade.

The 2004 Réserve Spéciale features fruit from three of the finest benchland and mountain sites in Sonoma County: Monte Rosso Vineyard, Smothers-Remick Ridge Vineyards and Murray Ranch. The weight and concentration of the wine allowed for extended aging in French and American oak barrels.
